Goodbye PlayStation 30th anniversary themes! Will it come back?

layStation 5 exclusive limited-time themes are coming back! Sony will reintroduce PS1, PS2, PS3 and PS4 designs.

Last December, Sony released limited-time PlayStation 5 exclusive themes for the PlayStation 30th anniversary. Unfortunately, as of today, these themes are being removed from the platform. But the good news is that due to overwhelming user interest, Sony has announced plans to reintroduce these special themes soon. So when is it coming? The details are in our news...

PlayStation 30th anniversary themes are being removed from PS5, but will return in the coming months!

The special themes, which were highly appreciated by users, were based on PS1, PS2, PS3 and PS4 designs, offering a nostalgic experience to PlayStation lovers. For example, users who chose the PS1 theme could see the iconic opening animation of the original PlayStation, while the PS2 theme used the era-specific 3D squared interface and black translucent application icons. The PS3 and PS4 themes also included elements that reflected the design sensibility of their era.

Given the overwhelming interest in these themes, Sony has announced that they will be reintroduced in the future. However, no exact date was given as to when they will return. While this creates uncertainty for gamers who like to collect, it also shows that Sony recognizes the interest in older PlayStation generations.

For whatever reason, there's been a growing interest in nostalgia in the PlayStation community lately, and many gamers want Sony to make such themes permanent. We don't know if the company will offer more customization options for older consoles in the future. However, richer themes are highly likely.
