Octopath Traveler Keeps Selling
Although it seems to have taken a back seat, the series has a significant fan base. The original Octopath Traveler had sold 3 million units by 2022. Octopath Traveler 2 has sold 1 million units. And given the continued commercial success of the HD-2D turn-based role-playing series, it's safe to assume that we may see a new series game in the future.
At this point, Square Enix is coming out with numerous HD-2D remakes. Especially recently, projects such as Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake and Dragon Quest 1 and 2 HD-2D Remake are coming our way. Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake was released in November and the other remakes will be released next year.
