Online game store XUruguay briefly listed the release date of GTA 6 as September 17, 2025. This date is notable for coinciding with the 12th anniversary of Grand Theft Auto V's release. In fact, it's very much in line with Rockstar's previously announced “fall 2025” release window. However, this information was later removed by the store.

Industry sources have claimed that this leak is not a coincidence and that the XUruguay platform is directly linked to PlayStation. However, Rockstar Games and its parent company Take-Two Interactive have yet to make an official statement on the matter.
